STEM YES! 2025 Summer Program | Session 1: Science/Healthcare

DirectEmployers Institute’s (DEI), Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Youth Enhancement Summer Program (STEM YES!) is a comprehensive summer program made up of 2, week-long sessions for Central Indiana students in grades 7th - 12th who are interested in exploring STEM & Business careers in a work-based environment. During each session, students develop competencies in teamwork, business planning, presentation skills, social etiquette, soft skills and career and college preparation. All this, while exploring and learning about the various fields that STEM has to offer through, job shadows, research, product development, information technology, and many more.

What To Expect:

• Collaboration with peers to acquire greater knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
• Learn about local fortune 100 companies to explore workplace culture, professionalism and participate in virtual workshops.
• Session 1: Science/Healthcare
• Explore science through various science and healthcare activities. Students will participate in an informational panel discussion of medical professionals .
• Gain experience conducting research
• Communicate with professionals in order to gain knowledge of the various fields within Science/Healthcare.
• Our goal with STEM YES! each year is to provide interactive sessions where students are exposed to all the STEM and business career opportunities that are available in the Indianapolis community. This year will be no exception, despite these updates.
